Storytelling: Confessions Of A Dangerous Deer With Megan Rippey
Actor/dancer/writer/performer Megan Rippey discusses pole dancing, skinny dipping, tipping etiquette and leporidae reproductive cycles. That’s right. It’s one of the sexy episodes.
We sat down with actor/dancer/writer/performer Megan Rippey as she was in the process of moving her solo show Deer Woman from the showcase stage of The Whitefire Theatre to The Fringe Festival circuit. Having gotten the nuts-n-bolts perspective of directing the show from Valerie Hager, we were thrilled for the chance to find out how the play was written and, of course, which parts were true, which were lensed truth and which were fabricated. The story of the origins of Deer Woman turns out to be one that spans her entire life (up until now at least). Along the way, we get into her work as an exotic dancer, her time as a student earning her MFA and the ingredients that had to come together to make Deer Woman possible. As always, thank you for listening!

Journalism: Zon D’Amour Loves Tea, Turns It Down
From The Shadows of the Archives, Zon D’Amour strikes without warning, leaving not but insight in her wake!
We welcomed Zon D’Amour to The Hollywood Fishbowl ages ago, at the start of a journalism series that was harder to book than expected. We’re releasing this episode now. Why? Because it’s good and Zon emailed saying “what ever happened to that episode?” We cover a lot of ground that was relevant then (Black Panther) and even more that’s relevant now (everything else on the episode). When we get to The Fishbowl, we pull and skip unwanted medical advancements but take the time to answer questions on autobiography titles, moments of bad friendship, and the three items you’d take to an island.

Poetry: Charles Jensen Takes Over The Hollywood Fishbowl
In which Charles Jensen takes over The Fishbowl and declares that to know we exist is enough.
After all Jesse’s tough talk about the terrifically high quality of his poems in part 1, Charles steps up to the plate and hits three home runs over the course of this episode. One poem at the top, one in the middle and one at the end. He also takes over the show, acting as host, until both he and Jesse submit to the awesome power of The Fishbowl, answering question upon question, fearlessly delving into the world of randomly generated interviews!

Poetry: Charles Jensen Is The Self-Proclaimed Last Poet on The Hollywood Fishbowl
We would have loved to have had more poets on the show, but that’s all behind us now, isn’t it.
Charles Jensen is a teacher and a writer, doing the former over at UCLA Extension (https://www.uclaextension.edu/) and the latter wherever he pleases. He’s also a fan of Almodovar, which is not a bad thing to be if you’re coming on The Fishbowl. He’s also, and perhaps most importantly, the first and self-proclaimed last poet we’ll ever have on the show. If that’s the case, there’s only so much mourning we can do as Charles is a terrific guest and a terrific poet and we’d never lament going out on a high note.

Storytelling: Nutschell Windsor Takes Over The Hollywood Fishbowl
For those of you who have had enough of Jesse hosting, today is your day! Nutschell Windsor takes over and crushes it!
When Nutschell takes over a show, she takes over a show. It isn’t just an interview, this episode is a full on reading. She succeeds at pulling information from my eyes even better than I succeeded at shedding my snarky, cynical veneer. When all is said and done, she succeeded more. But, hey, it’s not like this show is a success competition! When we turn to the fishbowl, we pull questions about LA changing (from Mariko Lochridge), how we want to be remembered, what we want to happen when we die and... silence? That’s right! It’s a fabulous first on The Hollywood Fishbowl! We do our premiere inaugural silent interview!

Storytelling: Nutschell Windsor Takes Exquisite Corpse To The Next Level
In which we welcome author, event organizer and all-around woman-of-wonder Nutschell Windsor to The Hollywood Fishbowl!
Growing up as a bookworm in the Phillipines, Nutchell didn’t have many books that reflected her day-to-day life. That didn’t leave her bitter, it left her motivated. After getting her BA in psychology, she made the move to teaching and a more literature-focused life, which eventually brought her to America. Since getting here, she’s founded the Children’s Book Writers of LA, which is where we met her. She’s also a published author and other accolades and other accolades, all of which are fantastic. But, hey, we invite our guests on because they have awesome ideas and captivating world-views. So, stop reading this and put some Nutschell in your thought-box! As always, thank you for listening!

MWP: Pamela Jaye Smith Is A Romantic With A Capital ‘R’
We are all gems in a interconnected matrix of thought and the sooner we understand the complexity and the beauty of that mesh, the sooner we can actualize as a mature species.
If you’ve had questions about the book of darkness, we have good news! Pamela wrote it (for MWP and titled it The Power of The Dark Side). Of course, she is more than an author. We get into philosophy, free will, religion, love and the fringes of life. If those topics seems heavy and heady, you’re in for a treat. Pamela keeps the conversation light and breezy. As always, thank you for listening!

MWP: Simone Bartesaghi Talks 3D Filmmaking, Sensitivity and The Matrix
We met Simone through Michael Wiese Productions but the title of ‘author’ only begins to scratch the surface. Simone started his career in business and had already found success when he finally got bitten by the film bug. Once he got his start, he couldn’t shake it and went on to produce and direct multiple award-winning shorts (one of them unbound by 2 crummy dimensions). As always, thank you for listening!
