From her early days in rural Pennsylvania to her arrival in LA, Kate seems to have lived an entire life. So, why does it feel like she’s hardly a quarter of the way done? Perhaps because the scope is so broad, Kate’s innate curiosity feels limitless. She talks about everything from coming into one’s body as a child to reclaiming that body after experiencing trauma, from discovering one’s voice as an artist to finding the means to manifest that voice on a public stage in Los Angeles. Ashley Lowry has been in the music game for quite some time. She started her journey with The Lowry Sisters, playing guitar and providing backup vocals. Always an open book, Mimi shares her wisdom and insight into the independent music scene with us as she tells the story of how she went from watching her mother perform on stage nightly to building her own career in ethereal electronica.

Mimi Page’s story starts on Broadway, but not in the way that you’d think. She began her musical journey as a child traveling with her mother who was a Broadway performer and watching from backstage. It was when she first heard Enya and Tori Amos that Mimi felt like she had found a tone and timbre that spoke to her and a whole new world of sonic possibilities opened up to her. From there, it was just a matter of learning how to make the sounds that were in her head and in her heart. Of course, there’s more to it than that. And, the only way to learn that ‘more’ is to listen!
