Jacquie is one of those artists who arts all kinds of art. But, the theatre is where she seems to feel most at home. Whether it’s on stage, behind the lighting board or putting out fires as a producer, she spends more time creating than not. It’s that openness and creative drive that brought her to LA and led her to the world of improv, eventually nabbing a position as producer of UCB Drag Race. After walking us through all of that, we dive into The Fishbowl and pull out Fantasy Animals, Movie Mad Libs and WHY?

A respected name in comedy, television and the world of podcasting, Carl Tart seems to have cracked the code without losing any of the hunger. In this interview, Carl talks about his journey and philosophies regarding comedy.
You may already know Carl from his work on Brooklyn 99, MADtv, Comedy Bang Bang and Bajillion Dollar Properties. It’s a robust resume but Carl is still hungry. In this episode, we get into his early days in entertainment, his move to improv comedy and his philosophies on how to best contribute to group comedy work. Before doing comedy, Ify was issuing death certificates. Not in the way an 80’s action hero would “issue death certificates”. He was literally working in a government office issuing birth, marriage and death certificates. It was a death in his own family that caused him to rethink his life’s trajectory thus beginning his career in comedy, writing and podcasting. Paul Long is a native Angelino but not a native post guy. His first college experience was for architecture. It wasn’t until a bit later in life that he got into post-production and eventually founded Kappa Studios (you know it, down on the corner on Magnolia). On this episode, Paul shares the genesis of Kappa, from the early days through to today and their current slate of projects, which includes a move into producing faith-based films. Jennifer Dornbush grew up in a house with human body parts strewn about, but not in a bad way. Her father worked in forensics. That environment would have an influence on her writing career but not right away. Once it did though, her career took off in new and unexpected ways, including a recent turn as a faith-based film writer. All of that in more detail in this episode and then we get to The Fishbowl.
