We take a break from the hustle and bustle of booking guests to catch up with Swinky on her ever-evolving journey as an LA transplant. From New York to Alaska to Los Angeles, violinist/singer/songwriter Phoebe Silva has been performing for three decades, making her a triple-location-triple-threat. That’s exactly why the episode is as long as it is - she brings a lot of game in all areas of grinding, from keeping the confidence up when you’re feeling down and keeping the bank account up when you’re unemployed. This isn’t an interrogation though. It’s a conversation. Phoebe takes over the show and gets the skinny on Swinky and Jesse and their coupling. From her early days in rural Pennsylvania to her arrival in LA, Kate seems to have lived an entire life. So, why does it feel like she’s hardly a quarter of the way done? Perhaps because the scope is so broad, Kate’s innate curiosity feels limitless. She talks about everything from coming into one’s body as a child to reclaiming that body after experiencing trauma, from discovering one’s voice as an artist to finding the means to manifest that voice on a public stage in Los Angeles. One of the common themes among our guests is empathy. While this isn’t a competition, Kathie was the first guest to ask about Neo’s wellbeing after he finished fighting Morpheus.
